Narrative About My Portuguese and English Classes for Foreigners

I have years of experience teaching languages, especially English and Portuguese for foreigners. My method focuses on conversation practice because I believe that the primary motivation for students is to speak the language they are learning. This practical and dynamic approach makes up more than 60% of my classes.

Although traditional teaching methods are present, including books, videos, audios, exercises, and homework, they represent only 40% of the class content. I prioritize real-world language practice in everyday situations and specific contexts, helping students achieve effective communication in the short or medium term.

Over the years, I’ve noticed that methods based exclusively on textbooks can demotivate and overwhelm students. Many give up before even finishing the third book. That’s why my classes are designed to be accessible, fun, simple, and practical. Each class is unique, with varied and current topics, preventing monotony and keeping students engaged.

My Approach

1. Focus on conversation: Portuguese and English classes tailored for young adults and adults interested in practicing and speaking the language.
2. Simple and effective method: I step away from traditional models that tie students to rigid, repetitive methods.
3. Personalized classes: Each lesson is planned with diverse themes, ensuring no two classes are alike.
4. Specific topics: Hospitality, Aviation, Travel, Culinary Arts, Customer Service, and current events that spark the student’s interest. The goal is to engage students in relevant situations where they naturally and practically use the language.
5. All-inclusive materials: All teaching materials are provided at no additional cost, including books, audios, videos, and access to an online library for downloads.

My Objective

My goal is to prepare students to communicate effectively, regardless of their level (intermediate, upper-intermediate, or advanced). Drawing from my national and international experience, my classes are focused on helping students build confidence and fluency, with conversation as the primary learning tool.
